Sempervivum for your special event
Sempervivum, also known as houseleeks/ liveforever/ hens and chicks/ cats and kittens, are cold hardy succulent plants (climate zone 4). Fast draining soil medium is an absolute must for this plant to survive. It is extremely drought tolerant, but will succumb rapidly when allowed to languish in very damp soil. They do require some protection against very intense mid-day sun and heat. They root easily and produce many chicks, they are very easy to grow!
A few ideas: beautiful plate decoration; perfect size to display in votive candle glass holder with decorative colorful sand; guest name tag holder; succulent favors, wine corks with magnets, fairy miniature garden, etc.
